How to get your student visa
Students from countries out of European Union who want to study in Italy for more than 3 months have to ask at the Italian Embassy or Consulate in their home country for a study visa.
To obtain a study visa it is generally necessary:
- to be more than 14 years old;
- to have a passport valid for at least 3 months more than the requested visa;
- a registration for a language courses of minumum 20 h/week*;
- an insurance policy for hospitalizations;
- a return ticket;
- a confirmed accommodation in Italy (you can ask Ovìt to help you find the appropriate one in Milan);
- a document certifing that you are be able to pay for your living in Italy, for example a letter of credit issued by credit cards, by a foreign bank institution certificate, by an insurance guarantee policy;
- a chart for the determination of means of support required for the entrance in the Italian territory (for reasons of business, medical treatments for a possible companion, sports competition, religion, study, transit, transport, tourism).
Ovìt can provide a confirmation letter and the documentation to be handed in at the Embassy or Consulate.
* In case the student does not obtain the visa, Ovit will refund any advance payments, withholding 30.00 euros only, which will be used to cover administrative costs and will not be returned in any case.
